Privacy Policy
This policy explains what play2lrn collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It is a working draft and should be reviewed before you rely on it.
1. Information we collect
- Account details — your name, email address and a hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Usage data — which simulations you open and basic sign-in activity, so we can improve the library and show admins aggregate reports.
- Subscription data — your plan and its status. Card details are handled by our payment processor; we do not see or store them.
- Technical data — a session cookie that keeps you signed in, an anonymous id used to count logged-out usage, and a truncated, hashed IP address.
2. How we use your information
To create and secure your account, control which simulations you can access, manage subscriptions, send transactional email (verification, password resets, institution invites), and understand which simulations are useful so we can build more of them.
3. When we share your information
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that run play2lrn (hosting, database, email delivery, payments), when required by law, or as part of a business transfer, and otherwise only with your consent.
4. Security
Passwords are hashed, connections use TLS, and access to production data is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your rights
You can update your details from your account, and you can ask us to export or delete your data by writing to us. The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
6. Cookies
We use a small number of first-party cookies for signing in and for anonymous usage counting. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
