About play2lrn
Some ideas are easy to read about and hard to actually understand. You can recite the definition and still not see how the thing behaves when you push on it. play2lrn is built for exactly those ideas.
The problem we’re working on
Textbooks and diagrams explain a concept from the outside. You get a formula, a worked example with someone else’s numbers, and a static picture that never moves. A week later it’s gone, because you never built an intuition for it — you only read one.
Every play2lrn demo replaces that with something you operate. Move a control and the output redraws immediately. Break it on purpose. Run your own experiments with your own numbers until the idea explains itself.
What we’re building toward
- Interactive over static. If a concept can be turned into something you manipulate, it should be — not a diagram, a simulation.
- Nothing to install. Every demo runs in the browser. No downloads, no setup, no account required to start playing with the open ones.
- Any subject where doing beats reading. Marketing, physics, chemistry, biology, economics, finance, health, environment, the stock market, machine learning and AI — anywhere hands-on experimentation works better than a paragraph.
Still early, and growing because of it
The library is small on purpose. Each simulation is built and checked rather than mass-produced, and new ones land regularly while we’re in beta. The collection grows as the platform does.
